Day 2!

Keep checking back because even though I'm posting this, I'll probably add to it later! 

Morning beach excursion!

These are the stairs we use to go back and forth from the beach... We walk a block or so... Sort of the same as at VB... 

We love this tree!

The owner of our beach house came today... Sooooo nice! We had a great chat; and he gave us so many tips about Disneyland, local places etc.

One of the things he told us is how there has been basically no rain for 6 months, which explains why so many trees look like this:

Anyway... We did a bit of shopping and now back to the beach!

What's shaved ice? Is the question the whole way over...

It is a gigantic, tasty treat! 

Neat use of beach glass... These are the concrete pads next to the play structure by the beach... 

So far we are right on "schedule" for our mostly unscheduled vacation!

I made that page above for the boys so they could see generally when we would be going to the big places... But mostly it says "explore" so we can have open days to see unforeseen things... Such as the neat hills on the way to the mall we went to at noon today! They seem to have trails throughout and it would be neat to see them!

Back from the beach! Time for steak dinner à la Kurt! If any of you have experienced this before, you know it is better than most restaurants which is why we don't go out much, haha!

Our walk tonight... We went for a walk on that pier...

Different type of pelican! I had just noticed today that I wasn't seeing any, but then there was this guy!
